Increasing the number of important court decisions that are available in both official languages in all Canadian provinces and territories is fundamental to ensure real access to justice. In 2019, the CTTJ obtained, from the Department of Justice Canada, through their Access to Justice in Both Official Languages Support Fund, the funding for an important project entitled “Translation of Important Unilingual Court Decisions in the Other Official Language.”
This funding makes it possible for the CTTJ to translate on an ongoing basis provincial and territorial court decisions which would otherwise not be available in French. The CTTJ would like to express our gratitude to all members of the legal profession for their contributions to this project and continues to accept suggestions on an ongoing basis.
